Globe Trekker Alaska

Alaska is one of the last wildernesses on Earth. It's the largest and northernmost state in the USA and has more miles of coastline than all of the other 49 states put together. It is home to a staggering three million lakes, five thousand glaciers and the highest peak in North America. Globe Trekker Ian Wright begins his journey on the banks of the Yukon River in the small town of Eagle. From Eagle, he travels to the town of Chicken, parties with the locals, goes on a tour in a 1946 light aircraft and pans for gold in the Fortymile River. Ian then travels north to the twin towns of Kennicott and McCarthy situated in Wrangell-St Elias National park. The next leg of his journey takes Ian up the Prince William Sound to the town of Seward, the departure point for a sea kayaking trip. From Seward he travels to Homer, stopping off at the Kenai River to try his hand at salmon fishing. The final leg of Ian's journey takes him north, past Mt McKinley and up above the Arctic Circle to the land of the midnight sun. Bonus Treks: Cycling the Golden Circle - Bradley Cooper cycles the Alaskan Golden Circle from Haines to Skagway following a 360 mile road over the infamous Alcan Highway. Bradley's pedaling takes him past sites that haven't changed since the Gold Rush and some of the most spectacular scenery in North America! Sea Kayaking the Prince William Sound - This time Bradley Cooper visits the most famous clue water kayaking spots in the world. He discovers the stark beauty of the Prince William Sound and gets a close up view of one of Alaska's true wonders, the majestic Columbia Glacier. Arctic Hiking in Alaska - Bradley Cooper is at it again, following the migration of caribou across the Arctic tundra to their winter homes. With a little help from an expert guide he learns what being an outdoorsman is all about.
