For fans of Vanilla Fudge, Mark Stein, and Classic Rock! Mark Stein is best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger of Vanilla Fudge. Mark first founded Vanilla Fudge in 1966 at the age of 18 with members Tim Bogert, Vinny Martell, and Carmine Appice. In the short time they were together the band enjoyed their first giant success with their first Atco Records album release self-entitled Vanilla Fudge. The legendary rock arrangement of The Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin' On” became the band's first hit single. The combination of Stein’s sturdy vocals and the heavy keyboard cadence of Stein’s predominant organ work made for a sound that heavily influenced the more adventurous bands of the day like Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, The Nice, and Led Zeppelin. Mark also went on to play in the Tommy Bolin band and joined Alice Cooper's “Welcome To My Nightmare” tour during the spring of 1977 in the southern hemisphere. Mark then went on to tour, write, & record with Dave Mason for the next 3 years and even sang with Michael Jackson on “Save Me” from Dave’s “Old Crest on A New Wave” album. He also made guest appearances with Deep Purple, Carl Palmer in a tribute to Keith Emerson, and performed with the Steve Miller Band. Mark is now set to release his first ever solo album ‘There’s A Light’. Filled with Mark’s trademark vocals, piano and Hammond B3 riffs, Mark delivers strong social content and convicting performances, from “We Are One” and “Racism” to his classic takes on “Ball of Confusion” and “People Got To Be Free”. The first single and video for “We Are One” will drop on October 1st and be serviced to Triple A radio.
