Product Description Since forming 4 years ago, Blink 182 has sound scanned over 45,000 copies of it’s debut record, Cheshire Cat. The band is heavily involved in the boardsport community and have toured the U.S. with the likes of NOFX and Pennywise and internationally throughout Canada, Australia and Japan (with No Doubt). Blink 182 will again take the main stage on the Warped Tour ’97, which starts early July. 1st promo single/video: “DAMMIT” serviced to commercial alternative, rock and college radio. Tienda Terrific sales of their independent Cheshire Cat got Blink-182 signed to a major label (MCA) for 1997’s Dude Ranch, which led to radio hits (“Dammit,” “Josie”) and platinum sales. No “sell-out” on the band’s part, though, as Dude Ranch simply features another infectious collection of snotty vocals, punchy rhythms, vivid lyrics, and aggressive chords. San Diego producer Mark Trombino shines some of the scuffed edges, but this is still good ol’ Blink at its sunny, effervescent best. Nice “emocore” spoof here (“Emo”), plus an odd knack for crafting bass-lines that recall–seriously!–New Order, and vocal harmonies that owe debts to the Beach Boys. –Mark Woodlief
