This is Bennett the belter at his best, his big voice made to sound even more expansive with that hallmark early-'60s echo behind it. But the jazz vocalist in Bennett still knows how to find intimacy and delicacy even in broad settings like these--particularly in his tribute to the city by the bay. "Once Upon a Time" is an especially lovely ballad from a forgotten Broadway show, and for variety there's also a big-band Latin treatment of Cole Porter's "Love For Sale" and a few brassy up-tempo numbers ("Rules of the Road," "Taking a Chance on Love") that could gain Bennett an honorary membership in the Rat Pack.
