Descripción del producto Oeuvres de Bach, Weiss, Kellner / R. McFarlane, luth Tienda On this disc, McFarlane, best known for his playing of Renaissance dance music, proves equally adept in a completely different style. These Baroque lute pieces are more serious and perhaps more musically demanding than the Renaissance pieces, but McFarlane takes them in stride. His technique on the Baroque lute is amazingly fluent and secure, and his stylish performances of this music offer great clarity of complex textures and some lovely embellishments. Kellner may be less well known than Bach and Weiss, but his music is comfortable in their company. The arrangement of the music on the disc makes a very good program for continuous listening. This is a thoroughly gratifying and beautifully recorded collection. --Leslie Gerber
